What should I expect from a NYS Workers Comp Conciliation hearing?

I have received a letter from the NYS workers comp board from a conciliator to make a proposal for my case to the insurance company and my attorney and myself.

I am just waiting for a letter of proposal to resolve the case as what is mentioned in the letter I had received.

Does this seem to be a final step in this process or could it take longer?

I have been waiting just about seven months now.

  1. Tom K Says:

Congratulations. They must like you. It took sixteen months from injury to resolution hearing for me.

It sounds as though you have had your follow-up medical examination and the State is ready to make a recommendation to both sides about what it thinks is fair. Acceptance of the offer will close the case.
